  • Keys labelled 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. I guess I can configure these, but can't be bothered to work out how quite yet.
  • Volume controls.
  • Play/Pause
  • Calculator. Having a key for that is deeply cool!
  • =, (, ), Backspace
  • A right-click menu key, but no bloody right-hand Windows key, dammit, meaning Windows-L (to lock the PC) is now a two-handed chord.

I might find out how to reprogram that, if possible.
  • Yes, these have those irritating function-lock things on them, but the F-lock appears to be on by default, so they do work as F1–F12 normally, thank Christ.
  • Shift-locking indicators.
  • The right way round. VERY important to me.
  • Raised wrist rest. Nice. Though it's making my elbows sore, so I might remove the thingy under it. The keyboard is shaped so it won't matter anyways :o)
  • I have indeed removed the raised bit, meaning it's much more comfortable, frankly. The heels of my hands still rest nicely on these padded bits, though.

tsk, could you not have brought the shiny one home and taken the clicky one to work? ;)

No, I couldn't. I'm not sure you'd like this one anyways.

That said, if I get on well with this one here, I might well buy a second one for home.

Dabs's packaging is bloody difficult to get into, though!

nice to see you're working equally as hard as me today.. ahem

it is nice and shiny though, is it as loud? (just noticed my work keyboard's VERY loud)

I have a very similar model at home; I wish I could get one at work! Time to bug IT services...

I couldn't be arsed to sort it out through IT, I just bought one myself and plugged it in ;o)

looks cool ! I just wonder how it's gonna be when you get used to it and have to type in other keyboards again...

  8. OwenBlacker 87 months ago | reply

@introspective: Ah, I'm already used to typing on one of these cleft-in-twain keyboards, having been using them for a few years now. The main reason I bought it was because work only provided a standard Dell keyboard and my wrists were really suffering as a result.

    Keyboard shot 3

I hadn't noticed the left windows key was missing... odd...

And YESS!! the home-end-insert-delete-... keys in the right way!!

I also just got the same keyboard about two months ago. It's my first ergonomic keyboard and I'm absolutely loving it. Having the Insert/Delete cluster in the right space is great and I haven't had nearly as many hand and wrist problems since I started using it.
