How To Get Help For Health Insurance For Your Kids

For many families it includes the need for vaccinations, physicials, new glasses and more.

In California, low income families can get free or low cost health care for their kids.

California’s Healthy Families Program is low cost insurance that provides health, dental and vision coverage to children who do not have insurance.

It will pay most of your child’s costs for visits to doctors, dentists, eye doctors and specialists. The insurance plans also contract with clinics, laboratories, pharmacies and hospitals.

Healthy Families provides health insurance to families that don’t qualify for free Medi Cal coverage.

To see if you qualify, visit www.healthyfamilies.ca.gov, or call 800-880-5305.

Or you can get one on one help applying for Healthy Families from a Certified Application Assistant.

More options in Bay Area

The Children’s Health Initiative pulls together access to a number of different programs providing health insurance and related services for families in Santa Clara County.

Citizenship or even legal status is not required for some of the programs offered.

San Mateo County’s health coverage unit helps low income families apply for health insurance.

Sequoia school district offers a list of low cost health care providers in San Mateo County.

Adults in San Mateo County who aren’t eligible for coverage elsewhere may qualify for health benefits through Health Plan of San Mateo.
